Meetings in June 2007

June 6

The Annual Barbecue.

One of the highlights of the Camera Club’s social programme is the summer barbecue. As usual, members Kath and Reg Cooke will host the event in their pretty garden. In addition to the barbecue-kitchen they set up two large gazebos and stalls for a raffle and a bring-and-buy sale. Kath always prepares an enormous non-alcoholic punch-bowl and Reg, in addition to tradition BBQ fare, prepares baked bananas with his own special sauce; the recipe is a secret but Reg warns those who are driving not to eat more than one!

June 13

Once More into the Breach

Scunthorpe Camera Club enters round two of the Lincolnshire Photographic Association image Battles. Supporters will travel to the Louth Camera Club who will be hosting the event.

June 20.

With a Little Help from my Friends.

The visiting speaker at this meeting will be a former member and successful local businessman Ray Bramhall. Ray is renowned for his skills as a photographer and competition judge. The title of his presentation intrigues us – as I am sure it was meant to.

June 27

Close-Up and Table Top.

Scunthorpe Camera Club members will enjoy an evening of ‘hands-on’ practical work at this meeting. The theme is ‘Close-Up and Table-Top’ photography. Five or six tables will be set up with covers, background materials and small items to photograph. Members will need to bring their cameras, flashguns, tripods, and any close-up accessories they have. Experienced members will be on hand to advise. The skills and knowledge acquired at these sessions come in very handy on cold and windy winter nights.
