SCUNTHORPE CAMERA CLUB

Meetings in May 2007

May 9th.

VIEWING A PORTFOLIO.

In a change to the published programme members of the Scunthorpe Camera Club will view the Portfolio assembled annually by the Lincolnshire Photographic Association.

The LPA members are twenty-nine photographic clubs and societies in the old county of Lincolnshire. Every year the LPA invites the clubs to submit specimens of work produced by their own members. A selection committee evaluates the entries and chooses the best images to make up the portfolio that is circulated round all the clubs that have entered. This year the ‘folio consists of 64 colour prints; 39 monochrome prints and 25 colour slides. It is rumoured that four members of the Scunthorpe Camera Club have had images accepted for the portfolio.

May 16th.

POINTS FOR IMAGES.

Members of the Scunthorpe Camera Club will see an independent judge evaluate their entries in the fourth bi-monthly competition of the season.

The judge will allocate each entry points out of twenty then select the images for first, second and third places. After the sixth [and final] competition of the season, the member who has accumulated the highest number of points wins the Photographer of the Year trophy.

May 23rd.

BATTLE OF THE PICS.

At their next meeting the Scunthorpe Camera Club will play host to two visiting clubs in the next round of the Lincolnshire Photographic Association image battles. In a ‘set' of three clubs, each club in turn acts as the host and after the three battles the winning club moves on to the next round of the competition.

May 30th.

ALFRESCO PHOTOSHOOT.

Members of the Scunthorpe Camera Club will not hold their next meeting at their usual venue in the Community Centre. Instead they will assemble at the home of Ted Dowse who will host an outdoor photoshoot in his very picturesque and extensive gardens. Several attractive models will be available and a range if unusual ‘props' including a range of vintage bicycles.
