Club member Alison Walker - Smith is no stranger to winning awards, recently winning 1st Place in the 8th Open Art and Sculpture exhibition at the 2021 gallery.
Alison competed against 310 other entries of high quality work to win the competition. The prize was to exhibit her work at the gallery. Alison claimed first prize with her photograph ‘New Pink Shoes. This exhibition shows further portraits and observational studies.
Alison digitally combines images with different focal depths and exposures to create stunning hyper real images. Alison tries to find inspiration in the rich vein of photography subjects in the local area. She strives to find a new twist by opening her eyes to the possibilities around her.
This exhibition is now running from 26 June to 6 October at the 20-21 Visual Arts Centre St John's Church, Church Square, Scunthorpe, DN15 6TB
