Messingham Sand Quarry

Wednesday 23 June 2010

During the summer months the Scunthorpe Camera Club arranges a number of field visits to photogenic locations. This Wednesday they will assemble at Messingham Sand Quarries for an  outdoor photoshoot.  This reserve is famous for both the bird life and for the exquisite wild orchics, which should be in full bloom now.   Please Note for outdoor events, we will meet at the earlier time of 7pm

Directions:-

The reserve lies to the east of the B1400 Messingham-Kirton road. The entrance is opposite Scallow Grove Farm (look for electricity pylon). A track leads from the entrance to a small car park, where a waymarked circular route is indicated.
